The Story

The prequel/sequel to The Brittle Riders. After being reviewed by professional critics The Brittle Riders was awarded a 97.92 rating, out of 100, on the film adaptability scale.

That was the warmup for this.

It was one thing to maintain order, quite another to inflict tyranny. When that line got blurred one brave soul rose up in protest and set off a chain of events that would eventually lead to a world war, alien robots, and non-dimensional souls. But, before all that could happen, he'd need some bourbon, some luck, and some mists to rule.

REVIEWS

This world is our world and not. It is our future, and not. When multiple nuclear missiles can rightly be used as an example of subtle persuasion it becomes a testament to the deep, and twisted, humor that permeates this series. The fact that a gay wedding is the capstone for a bloody revolution is a perfect example of how dichotomies constantly intertwine to tie every story thread together. All in all, this is world building, and story telling, at its finest.

There's a horny squid and nukes. What more could I ask for?

I never considered giving my spouse a year's worth of meat for our anniversary.

Essentially book number four in the Brittle Riders Trilogy, Goptri (Kittab Ek) manages to slam the reader into a shaky seat and fling them off a ledge. While the Brittle Riders gave you some, if not many, familiar concepts to grab onto, Goptri embraces this alien new world, with all its tentacles and lore, and demands you either accept it or go home. By the time you get to the first assassination you'll know it's worth sticking around. When you find yourself enjoying a snack of wine and cheese with three eyed snipers, you'll realize the mirror McCormick's holding up is reflecting humanity's darkest heart and it's simplest joys all blended together. This isn't so much a continuation of The Brittle Riders as a menacingly gleeful reimagining. I can't wait to read the fifth book in this weird trilogy.
- Harold O.

Okay, wow, did not see this villain coming. The evil unleashed is beyond daunting.
- Aariz M.

Relentless and riveting.
- Bill P.

No matter how much you'll want to you can never look away from the mirror McCormick sticks in front of your mind.
- Tina U.

(McCormick's) always been LGBTQIA+ friendly, but this subtly raises the bar and I, for one, am thrilled.
